Q's About washing machines.

@bigpearl Philipinoes ask to borrow money with no intention of repaying. They have the attitude that if you are a foreiner you are rich so no need to repay. Once it was realised that my GF was with a foreigner people came out of the woodwork asking for money. No problem saying "No"

Agree Gezzar, borrow means give, learnt that 10 years ago. Now when people ask us for money we send them to Bens sister as she borrowed (apparently) back then and never paid it back, all the relatives that ask for a loan/borrow/help we send to Bens sister but I'm sure none of them confront her, we give nothing to family for 10 years and Ben understands and has asked his sister many times to repay me. she simply smiles to him, he knows and any that ask for help he says no. go talk to my sister.

While not about washing machines an interesting topic and plenty on that subject on this forum, Our washing machine works fine and the family have learnt the word no when it comes to money.

Here we have 35/40 PSI and runs the 12Kg Samsung fine,,,,

A few years ago while in Jakarta on business I decided to stay at a serviced apartment complex in the des res business district of Thamrin in the central area. Used by several expat business executives for long term stays.

Breakfast was always a civilised affair where the guests behaved themselves; no ‘sightseeing tourists ‘going back for third helpings and a relaxing smoothjazz feed from Radiotunes in New York with a silent Bloomberg screen on the wall with real time market updates. Sorry I digress.

My corner apartment had a lobby, lounge area , bedroom, bathroom and a kitchen with what looked like a top of the range Samsung washer dryer. Brand new. I do like doing my own laundry away from home. After a week I put a load of washing on left it to cycle. On my return upon entering the kitchen the machine had ‘ migrated’ half way across the kitchen floor presumably during the spin cycle. Always thought of Samsung as a respected South Korean brand whose mobile phones are highly rated.

Given that this was a business establishment I wonder how many foreigners decided to replace their washing machine back home with a Samsung?

As you say Steve ‘ Each to their own’ I’ll stick with my German Miele 😉

Nothing wrong with either Miele or Samsung, I would simply put your walking washing machine down to incorrect installation, not leveled properly.
