How is the nightlife..bars..etc on weekdays ( sun-tues) this time of year? Is it going to be good or dead? Where should I go?

Dear Cart,

Welcome to the Colombia forums of Expat.com ...

The Paisa capital rocks year-round though not so much

during Christmas season and Easter week a.k.a.

Semana Santa. Sundays not connected to a Monday

holiday may be the slowest day this time of year.

If you post again, tell us more about yourself, including

your gender preference(s), your age, your nocturnal interests

and your ability to communicate in español, so that

our members can potentially guide you in the right direction.

Hello.

I'm male..yo hablo espanol un poquito.

I'm just hoping I can find some bars..clubs..areas with lots of people next Sunday and Monday. Since I won't be there on weekend, wondering whether there will be many exciting places to go.

One option is Casacol's Pub Crawl Paisa

in the party-central district of Poblado.

The one-night bar hop with guide-interpreter

and fellow bar-hoppers visits several bars,

possibly with a stop or two in the Parque Lleras area.

Disclaimers... I have not personally used this

service.  I do not receive compensation for

mentioning this possibility.

Google...

Just be careful in Medellin with the bars, never leave your drink out of your eyesight. But why not see the city, just google lots of fun things to do, just google

South American Voyager

Watch your drinks and who you hang with as this past week yet another tourist, from the USA, bites the dust, so this brings the body count to 24 tourists dead this year alone and counting in Medellin from being drugged......and this guy from Florida was wearing a reported Rolex and hanging with some lesbians (LGTBIQ+) who he just met at a gay club/bar...really.

Wake up people! Stop watching those youtube influencer's videos of how great the party is in Poblado. Just saying.

So yes perhaps a tour/pub crawl will provide some higher level of safety as in safety in numbers.

A guy with a Rolex .. hanging with lesbians from a gay bar ..

bit the dust.  Very colorful, Mr. Voyager.

Here is the link to the news article about the 24th foreigner tourist drugged to death (so far THIS YEAR!) this past weekend in Poblado (Medellin) which I commented on in the above post:

I personally wouldnt take anything in that.site seriously

Allthough I agree  you gotta be nuts to go cruising solo at nigh in the bar scene in Medellin

South American Voyager

@nico peligro - simply google his name and other more main stream news agency's have about the same info, such as this one:

https://www.semana.com/nacion/medellin/ … in/202303/

And these (24 deaths so far this year) are just foreigners being killed by being drugged......the sad reality is that local/normal Colombians are drugged and killed all the time it just does not make the news.

In January of this year 2023 my good friend of 14 years, a normal and humble 55 yo family man from Copacabanna walked to a local bar near his home, just for a drink, he went missing.....did not return home......2 weeks later his body appeared floating downstream in the Medellin river past Barbosa...........his wife and 2 boys (young adult's) are devastated. We buried him in February, I miss him dearly.

Uncovered video footage shows that 2 women and one man befriended him in this local corner bar, drugged him, walked him to the bridge in Copacabana and stripped him naked, murdered him, stole the few pesos he was carrying and threw his body into the flowing Medellin river.

This happens all the time. His murder goes unsolved.

Be safe all!
