Adapting to the pace of life in Kuwait

Hello everyone,

When you move to Kuwait, you may find that the pace of life is different from what you're used to. Shop opening times, working hours, sleep cycles and variations in sunlight can all have an effect on your life in Kuwait as an expat and require time to adapt. This transition can be a source of surprises, adjustments and sometimes even frustration for those trying to find their balance in this new environment.

Here are a few questions to help you better understand how you manage your days in Kuwait :

How have you managed to harmonise your own pace of life with the pace of life in Kuwait?

Have you felt a change in your biological rhythm (diet, sleep, energy, etc.)? How can you minimise the effects on your well-being and adapt to changes in your circadian rhythm?

How have you adjusted your sleeping habits to optimise your energy and concentration in a different environment?

Shopping, meal and activity times can differ from one culture to another. How do you manage to reconcile your personal habits with those of life in Kuwait? What are the benefits and challenges of these adjustments?

How do different working hours affect your productivity and quality of life? What have you done to maintain a work-life balance despite these changes?

Please feel free to share your experiences and advice on this topic.
Thank you for your contribution.

Hi Ms Cheryl

Thank you for giving me a chance to share my experiences since i came here in Kuwait.

First and foremost thank to Praise Almighty Allah (swt) and thanks for everything and all the Blessings that he giveth to me.

.When my first day i was really happy because i saw the people here how they dress especially the arab people man and women, they’re wearing dis-dasha & abaya for women which is i saw only  in the bible but now i said i saw its real.

yeah it was big adjustment for me regarding the time, culture and the different attitude that’s not new for, so tried my best to learn how to talk and understand little arabic even basics, i was really zero and have no idea where is Kuwait by the because in GCC what i knew only is that UAE & Saudi😅

.Timing and work schedule it was really different, here i used to go at work 2 shift that’s was so difficult and no Life means 9 am to 1 pm work, then come back at 6 pm to 12 midnight uuuffff really at first iused to cry😃

.But What i did? I’d just keep in my mind the reason why i came here, so  I go through go on the flow and be good to my colleagues, my manager and to the company where i came before from first time.

.Until that became easy difficult and i’ve learned how to be face and  talk to them especially, i was in sales and thats my work for many years from my country so i’d just adjust how they are and i adopt it easily how the people here or to communicate to different people or customers, until slowly slowly I understand how to market to them.

.It’s good to communicate always to people or talk as you can, you’ll know how they talk as well and you’ll find who they are and how to look at you as well.

Lots of thing to be shared but it’s enough, the important  here how I respect them, their culture and even for the climate I already adopted being an expat.

Thank you

Yours,
