Mandatory military service for dual citizens

After i get married later this year i plan on getting citizenship in cape verde. Since i am under 35 would I be required to complete 2 years of military service? Is there any ways around this or can i pay a fine? I cant find much information on this topic online but It seems important to address for anyone who has or soon will have dual citizenship

Hi Dan,

You are not a native born citizen. You have no obligation to serve in the Cape Verde military. In any event, the conscription age is upon turning 18 years old (and not all 18 year olds are called up). You're long past that age.
