You need to speak Japanese and such jobs are done by locals.

Goovle

yes you can, you need to have permanent residential and ability to read kanji to fill those form. You can ask officer if your country's driving license can be converted or not

Not sure what poster means by "lite driving visa".

If "lite" means a light car (Kei Jidousha), the D/L for a Kei and Standard size car is the same.

International Drivers Licenses issued in your home country are recognized and accepted in Japan.

These are valid for one year.

If you are in Japan as a tourist(or Visa Waiver) that will be 90 days so more than sufficient.

If you are in Japajn under one of the otyer long-term visas, you can still drive with your International Drivers License as described abve for the duration it's validy. Beyond one year thoughm either you have to return to your home country to get a new International License issued, or obtain a Japanese drivers license.

If your foreign drivers license is still valid, you can apply for a Gaimen Kiriae (foreign license conversion). The written test is simple and can be taken in English. The driving test though, although not very long, is going to require working knowledge of conversational Japanese because the Testing Officer sitting next to you is only going to be giving instructions in Japanese.

There are plenty of Driving Schools that help foregners prepare for this driving test.

If your foreign drivers license has expired, you can only either return to your home country and get it renewed (some places permit renewal up to 1 year after expiry) or start from scratch there and obtain a new D/L. Then take the Gaimen Kirikae in Japan.

If you are fluent and literate enough in Japanese, you could simply apply for a Japanese D/L in Japan which will require classes and driving test.
