Hi,

What is a "bond on a property"?

Alex Gorman14

I by a property  put 20 % down as a deposit and pay thr test off to the bank?

20%...? You should bear in mind that most banks won't finance you for more than 50% of the value of the land and you usually need to have an approved building project, among other documents.

But you have to go to your bank in Portugal and find out. It all depends on your age, your fixed monthly income and your effort rate to pay back the loan...

Thank you will bear that on mind.

Alex,

I would strongly suggest using a mortgage broker as they're paid by a fee from the lender with no cost to you. They will use their network to find the mortgage best fit to your needs. I used one in Albufeira and was very impressed with his efforts.
