Please I applied for my visa, family reunification with a Belgium on 30th of may 2023, although am still waiting for their decision, when I wanted to summit my application I was asked to pay a certain amount of money in euro , 209euro for the processing of my visa, that I should contact my husband to make the payment, which my husband and sent me the receipt, but letter on after the submission we both found out that he did not use any ref number, and forgot to write my name, he just wrote "PAYMENT FOR MY WIFES VISA APPLICATION". he wrote to the embassy stating that  I am his wife and while making the payment he did not write my reference number or name, but he got an email from them asking him to send his account number for a refund, we don't need a refund we just want them to be aware of the payment mistake. I don't know if this will affect my visa process in any way.

Note: my husband is a Belgium citizen.

It's not clear.  What are you asking for here?  How can anyone here help you?

It is about the money paid in processing of my visa application, my husband paid the money in euro but used a wrong reference number and he forgot to write  my name in the description on the receipt, although we have sent a mail to the embassy notifying them of this error, but they replied us back and said he should forward his account number for a refund, mind you we don't want a refund, we just want them to be aware of the payment and input the right reference number while they work on my a

Hmm, it is a grave mistake your partner did. The way they identify you paid the contribution fee, is by matching the payment reference in their banking system. One suggestion is to make another payment with correct reference (exactly as they mention in their website). The old payment, he can get a refund as the embassy is suggesting. NOTE: Do doublecheck with embassy if this approach is ok. You may also write to ministry to inform them about this, quoting your reference/application number.

Hello,

To start with, if the file is in Brussels and you can track it on Dofi's website, they will not process the file until that is cleared.

Like aneesh suggested, the best thing is to pay another with the correct details.

First send them an email, and they will reply to you on what to do.

I presume they will make the refund.

And also I hear some spouses of Belgian residence dont pay the fee, this is confusing.

But dont trust any, cases are different. just send an email to the immigration department.
