Perhaps not too of subscibers on the Turkey forum (I am sad, old and the facebook, instagram, etc I do not trust (for me email is fine)

Sometimes (or more then often) suspicious topics, not good, some good contributors.

I really hope you will have more subscribers with something to add.

You do a good job in getting rid of not so straight forward contributions

Personally, I haven't learnt to much on this forum. But LOTS on other ones.

There seem to be a few on here that post or reply, that seem to like the sound of their own (albeit digital) voices. Examples are replying to themselves and repeating what they've said multiple times on other threads, especially on 'cost of living' related issues.

I suggest that those asking questions use the 'search' facility first, rather than give the 'forum warriors' a chance to repeat themselves 😆

I don't care what anyone's alcohol/smoking consumption is, or how many times they eat out a week.

Toodles!!

hello,

We have many requests/posts on the french speaking forum but unfortunately not many expats to provide some guidance...

Are there more Anglophones or Francophones in Turkey ? (just asking out of curiosity).

Thank you

Bhavna

Yes I agree there seems to a lull on this site but I cannot fault anyone who tries to engage others to initiate a discussion.  There is no harm in the the threads created by cdw057 unless you consider the minute and a half of reading his post to be detrimental to your time.  People with smarmy attitudes are not very endearing.  That is your prerogative whether you want to continue visiting this site but it is quite rude to disparage cdw057 in his attempt.

I try to gather pertinent information from this site from people's direct perspectives and experiences in order to be as prepared as possible when I do become an expat.  In the interest of learning more,  could you provide examples of sites whose forums provide greater learning?

@Gino_C

Indeed I try to start discussions, not always succesful, but in any case there are some reactions (which is good).

Sometimes (unfortunately rarely) responses.

As mentioned I lived in many countries, but I am still a member of expat in Hungary as well (a few VERY active contributors (good, sometimes annoying though)

The Turkey forum can use some active input and that is exactly what I like to trigger.

Not too succesful so far, but so be it.

For Gino, I appreciate your support.

Some members might comlain that I repeat myself, but I hate the new apps (Facebook, Instagram, ...). For me a forum where people change views is more then sufficient.

I really hope the forum gets more members and become more active.
