As someone considering retiring in Thailand I am very interested in learning about the different seasons and how it affects daily lives of ex pats

If you are in Phuket there is pretty much just 2 seasons

hot or rainy and hot,

It varies of course but roughly the rain season is July

through October

November thru April is the high season for tourism

As for affecting expat lifestyle during the rain season

it's nice to have a car or you go on a motorbike with

rain gear or you stay home. Some will rent a car just

for the wet months

March, April, May & June are very Hot Hot some rain, when it does can be torrential for an hour or so

July, Aug, Sept & Oct are again mainly Hot and it is the Rainy season/ Monsoons & Thunderstorms very very Humid 95% not nice when out
