Single permit with dependant or student visa and family reunion?

Hi, I have been accepted for a PhD, but fully paid.

So as a non-EU couple, I have been found that a single permit with dependant visa process is easier and married couples can move together, as they apply for the visa together.

However, for a student visa, I have to go first, receive ID, have a rental contract, send documents to my wife and only then she can apply for a visa and we will wait her visa seperated for months.

Is my information correct? Cause I am planning to ask the university if they can provide me a single permit inquiry for my visa application as I am fully paid. Can you tell me if there are such advantages for single permit with dependant instead of student visa, so I am going to try my chance if university can provide me such documents? Cause I found that some Flemish universities do it.

In both case you will need to have  Single Permit.

Without single permit you can not apply for dependent visa for your spouse.

First you will have it and spouse will apply after family reunification.
