@Hunny Bini

Nothing yet

Applied on 8 september here

Hunny Bini

@Kwannius i have applied on 11 Aug and still waiting and i think no one got any update who applied in August ..

may be they are still working on july files

Hunny Bini

Any updates ?? is there anyone still left from July ??

Izca

@Hunny Bini

I read that people applied on late July already got their accord. So hopefully in the next few days they will wrap up July and start working on August application.

But thats just what I read in this forum. So who knows if they actually already started working on August files.

Hunny Bini

@Izca yes you are right .. i agree with you .. it seems like this but who knows .. and again the process is too slow

SimCityAT

They have 1000's of applications to work on and they have holidays, so you have to be patient.

Hunny Bini

@SimCityAT yeah but when you crossed 4 months then no patience is left specially when your are waiting from more than 1 years to be with your husband ..  :(

Kwannius

I've received an email from ibz today.

They are asking for additional documents within 1 month.

They sent this email directly to me. I'm just wondering how they know my email address because in the visa application I can't remember that my email address was mentioned.

They sent to my work email address.

dhpsrn31

@Kwannius

nice to hear that there is some progress. What document are they asking and are you applying for family reunification visa?

Kwannius

@dhpsrn31

Yes, applied for family reunification visa.

I'm a Belgian citizen and my wife is a non-EU citizen.

They are just asking for proof of relationship.

Such as stamps in my passport, pictures, hotelreservations, chats,...

Only for the early chats is a bit difficult because I lost early chats due to new phones, broken phones,...

Note: the status is not changed on the website. Still standard message.

dhpsrn31

@Kwannius

ohh ok.. May be a marriage certificate or wedding photographs will help.

Kwannius

@dhpsrn31

Translated Marriage certificate with apostille was already in our file from the beginning because this was on the list of requirements and thus mandatory.

Proof of relationship was not on the list of requirements for family reunification visa when already married.

I'm relatively happy because this is absolutely not that difficult to collect and provide. I need just a little bit time to collect and organize all the tickets, bookings, pictures,...

dhpsrn31

@Kwannius

ya.. its a good sign that they are working on your application. All the Best

Hunny Bini

@Kwannius well thats a good news for your .. you will get approval soon after submission of extra docs .. i have applied in August and i am still waiting no email no update at all ..

Hunny Bini

Now they have started sep but what about August files i didn't see any update about August

Hunny Bini

@dhpsrn31 when did you apply visa ??

Kwannius

@Hunny Bini

Are you married with a Belgian/EU citizen?

Let's hope that everything's going smoothly.

In less than 2 weeks I'm going to my wife for 3 weeks. If the processing time is going well, hopefully we can be united for always short after our trip.

dhpsrn31

@Hunny Bini

i applied on 24-oct and it got registered in immigration site on 21-nov

Hunny Bini

@Kwannius my husband is non Eu .

did you apply long tern visa or short term visa ?

Kwannius

@Hunny Bini

Family reunification visa is always a long term visa, Visa D.

I think because your husband is a non EU citizen, it's possible that the processing time will be longer.

Theoretically in your case, they need to make a decision within 9 months. And depending of which additional documents they ask, it can be extended with 3 more months.

But don't panic, we can't force it. We can only wait. You can use this waiting time to study Dutch or French for example. Or reading about Belgian culture. Just be prepared.

Moving to another country is only the beginning..

Kwannius

Hi, the status is changed today on the website..

Diplomatic Post:    xxxxxx

Visa application date:    Sep 8, 2023

Date of registration of visa application by Immigration Office:    Nov 6 2023

Decision/Status File:    Awaiting receipt of documents supporting the visa application sent by the Belgian diplomatic/consular post by diplomatic suitcase.

Date decision / status file:    Dec 15 2023

additional info1:    The visa file will only be processed upon receipt of the relevant documents, even if the visa application was previously submitted electronically. On average, the sending of the diplomatic bag takes one month. The processing time of the visa application then depends on the complexity of the file. If a file is still being processed or if the file has not yet been processed because the documents supporting the visa application are awaiting dispatch by diplomatic bag, the date on which the visa application was registered by the Immigration Office will appear as the date.

additional info2:    In principle, the decision is sent on the day it is made. However, it can sometimes take several days before the diplomatic or consular post actually receives the decision

Anyone who had the same status and anyone who can tell me if this is good or bad?

Thank you

Izca

@Kwannius

Glad to hear your visa progress.

I read somewhere in this forum, usually final decision comes out 2-4 weeks after they receive the additional documents requested. But as you say, we cant know for sure about the timeline, we can only prepare and provide the neccesities as best as we could and then we wait.

I hope you can get the final decision before christmast, since I heard there will be holiday week there.

Kwannius

@Izca

Thank you Izca

I'll try to send this weekend the additional documents to the immigration office.

Getting visa before Christmas is not so important because I'm going to my wife to celebrate New Year together. I'll go to her home country. And stay there for 3 weeks.

Ideal would be if she could come with me to Belgium instead of saying goodbye on the last day of my trip.

@Kwannius

Hello , In my case this status is same from 18oct even i submitted documents next day . From that day am just waiting .  Already passed 10 months yesterday and after calling the response is same that your visa is on hold you have to  wait .

But your case is different you are Eu citizen. I think it will not take that long for you .

Kwannius

@dalvirsandy123

Can you tell me which additional documents they were asking for?

dalvirsandy123

@Kwannius

New work contract with recent payslips and bank statement of last months.

Kwannius

@dalvirsandy123

And your netto salary is higher than the requirement as described?

dalvirsandy123

@Kwannius

Yeah when i applied in feb for my husband it was more then required and now as well .

divsviet

Hi, my wife is in Belgium on dependent Visa and has an appointment with commune scheduled. She has a job in pipeline and employer is asking for a document/proof of her eligibility to work in Belgium. Will commune provide her any document on her first appointment which can work as the proof or do we need to apply for any other document?

I am on single permit and my wife is on family reunification visa. She is yet to get her residence permit.

Thanks in advance for the response.

Kwannius

Update:

For anyone who needs to send additional documents via email to the immigration office. Keep in mind that they do not accept Wetransfer, google drive, or any internet link for security reasons

They only accept pdf, jpg and png and only as an attachment.

So no zip, winrar or mp4 either

I had to send again. However, it is possible to send multiple emails with attachments each time. The only condition is that all emails must be sent on the same day.

I hope I can help other members in case you need to send additional documents via email.

Izca

@Kwannius

Thanks for the info, very helpful.

And I glad to hear that the embassy give you a quick response.

Hopefully after you resend it they can proceed it as quick and you can get your approval asap.

@dalvirsandy123

Hi! How far back did your payslips need to be for? I’m going to Belgium in May and will get married there and apply for family reunification.
