How to repair outside walls after I've had new double glazed windows and doors put in.

I live in a village in the Pomorie municipality does anybody teach old biddies how to cement and general building stuff.

I am pretty sure you will find lots of videos on YouTube.

But why didn't the glassing firm not do it? Every time I have had new windows the firm that installed them did it. All that was left for me to do was the painting.

I would have asked the window fitters to finish the job..

I had new windows fitted in the uk..they left huge holes when they left

Then soon got a phone call..to come and finish the job..now looks ok..but will need doing again...so will get another call.

Btw..if i lived in bg full time..i would come and show you.

But wont be there till next summer.x

Hi Kath

The difficulty will depend on your outside walls, are they insulated on the outside?

If they are you will need someone who is skilled in a repair its not that easy because you have to repair/ replace the insulation so its stuck to the wall and then its a type of cement based render over that  and then the waterproof coating is applied...

However if its not insulated and just a sand/cement based render over bricks with paint on top the job is easier.  but again if you have not done before then its not easy fix Kath.  and if done wrong it will look a mess and on top of that can come off after a hard winter if its not stable.

Do it yourself enthusiasts save money but its a gauntlet of trail by error at times lol

Try to google it Kath there are many sites which will help you learn how to do diy and even youtube probably has videos .

Good luck

I had a new door fitted on top of my house on the sun terrace after finding out the builder thought it  good idea to fit an MDF  interior door to an outside entrance lol what a clown !  anyway they would not repair the damage so i had to repair it.  thye are deffo not the same as UK double glasing fitters

Just a suggestion on an approach i took on the doors that come off the top sun terrace.

My house is insulated and then coated like i said in my other post.

For many  years i had to replace the coating in the frame that surrounds the doors because when the snow came the external coating would come off and then it would cause plaster rot inside the house.   a real pain in the bottom. so a few years i got a pallet of nice natural stone and covered the wall  round the frame with it .  no more problems :)  all that takes is a bag on external tile cement make sure it has the ice crystal picture on the instructions. and really your just tiling with the stone.  it does not have to be straight edges as the stone looks better in my opinion sort of uneven on the edges. ill send you a pic

You can send pictures but they have to be off the internet, like from Google Photos and not directly from your PC.

I think one option is an online photo album (I use Google Photos). Then you can share a link.

This photo is my house basement, it has fairly typical Bulgarian stone tiles on the outside. I'm guessing you mean something along these lines.

You upload them to Google Photos or your own Facebook photos!!

Why would you want to use someone else's?

Photo Bucket was great before they started charging!

@gwyn

Google photos are Ur own photos then .. yes just like that but you only need one row of stone .. using the straightest edge round the frame .. I'll go look at this Google photo thing

I was warned that any damage caused by the fitters would be left for me to sort out by someone else other than the fitters.  Yes the walls have been insulated externally and I'm way too old to learn a new skill.  Number 2 son said that he'd come over to do the repair works in the new year as he's used all his holidays for this year. Fingers crossed the weather is not too bad until he can come over.
