SWITCH TYPE C VISA FOR MARRIAGE INTO FSMILY REUNIFICATION

Post new topic

Hi,

My fiancé and I applied for a TYPE C VISA TO GET MARRIED IN BELGIUM in June. I am Non eu citizen but my fiancé is EU living in Belgium.

Our marriage declaration from the commune expires end of November and till date our status is showing in progress. Even if it was to be approved we would have to gather all our documents and present them to the commune. When we come to think of it we should have done our marriage in our country and then rather apply for a VISA D FAMILY REUNIFICATION from the get go. We taught the type c being a short stay visa would have taken less time and would have allowed us to be together sooner . But clearly Belgian immigration has proven contrary. Our question is now do you know if it is possible to change the type of visa application ? If I was to travel to get married and then switch visa to family reunification ?

thanks

Don't make the mistake of getting married in your country , rather get married in Belgium . If you get married in your country they won't allow you in Belgium .
