Runaway case

I resigned from the company last year and gave the resignation letter to the post office and I got new job since now my visa is expired. i found out i have runaway case. I went to the agency to clear the case and told me i get a lawyer but still i will be detained for 3wks, is it true i have to be detained even if i have a lawyer ?

Depends on many variables. Just get a lawyer and ask him to handle it.
