Opportunities as a psychologist in California

Hello everyone! I am an Italian psychology student, almost getting my bachelor's degree. Since my bf lives in California, I am planning to go live there in the future. I unfortunately noticed how big of a difference psychology as a career is between the US and Italy. That doesn't help at all, especially since I'd love to find a career path that is compatible for both Countries. So, I wonder, is there any psychologist that from Italy ended up working in the US? Any advice? Is there any program I could apply to, like traineeship or a course of some kind? Are there any websites that could be useful for my specific case?

Unfortunately its a very long process of getting to practice any branch of medicine in the US when you are studied and trained elsewhere.
