hello All , I am planning a move to Thailand  and thinking about  starting a cargo company that facilitates trade between my home country and Thailand.

I need to understand the process of opening a cargo company in Thailand, including the necessary

steps, documentation, and any regulatory requirements. Moreover,   information that how long time it take get company registration, as well as insights into the costs involved. I am reaching out to seek guidance from the experienced members of the Thailand expat community.

if there are  specific licenses or permits required for operating a cargo company, or if there are considerations related to customs procedures that I should be aware of, I would be grateful for your guidance. As a newcomer to Thailand, I would like to learn about any agencies or consultants that could facilitate this process. Could you share your experiences with engaging such services?

as someone new to this country and the industry, I am interested in connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, possibly those who have successfully established similar businesses in Thailand. Any recommendations on networking opportunities or forums where I can learn from the experiences of others would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to becoming a part of the expat community in Thailand.  thank u

A cargo company just between "your country' and  Thailand? (Which country is that if I may ask)? Anyway, good luck with this.

I am not going into a discussion of feasibility...... but there are a few here....

I think you need to decide on the location where you want to set-up your company and then ask around if anyone has an advise for a lawyer. They can sometimes help you move forward

Companies/business are usually subject to permits etc.  talk to ministry of transport

KrabiMan

Do you have experience in logistics and shipping? There are numerous import/export licenses your company will need to obtain. And you you will need to to be well versed on customs duties and regulations as there are strict regulations on the amounts you can import/export and the different customs duties on each item.

You need the advice of a good import/export attorney and logistics advisor before starting up such a venture.

@KrabiMan I would think that the information you are referring is a responsibility from the client, not the transport company

But they could need permits related to, for example, dangerous materials/chemicals etc.
