Hello guys,

I am currently in Singapore and talking to a company in Vietnam for aHCMC based role. They are proposing to pay part of my salary in my Singapore account and part in Vietnam.

Considering I will not be staying in Singapore, what are my tax liabilities on the amount I might get in Singapore account. Also if I transfer this amount to India, what will be the tax liability there? I am totally confused so need some guidance.

regards,

You're pulling on the wrong end of the rope.

Your questions have nothing to do with Vietnam tax liability, so the Vietnam forum almost certainly isn't the best place to find informed answers.

Since you are a citizen of India, it seems that you would do best to ask your questions in the Singapore & India forums.

Good luck!

I had the same case few years back, a local salary in VND and majority of the salary in Europe (EUR).

All tax was paid in Vietnam for both salaries (VND+EUR), and as Vietnam have double taxation agreement with my home country then no issues (just needed to show that I paid full tax in VN).

It may be worth looking into this set up.

If you are employed in Vietnam then your earned income in Vtnm is subject to PIT.

Of late some overseas companies are hooking up with local agents, the local agent pays the minimum in country with the remainder being paid by overseas company from ”tax free” status countries.
