New passport and updates

Good morning all

I have reissued my new passport because old one was damaged but my employer is saying I can't update it because still my old passport has expiry more than 2 years my old passport will expires in 2026 so how can I update new one if not if I want to go exit can I go using my new passport also while it's not update in absher please let me know what to do it's already been 1 month I provided my new passport to update to my company but they are telling it's not update so please help me
