Hi everyone! You can call me Selene. I am 20 years old and a graduate of the K-12 program (not considered as college). I am a Philippine passport holder but currently residing in Germany. I have an A2 level of German now, and will continue to learn until B1 or B2. I was an Au Pair and now I am a volunteer in a kindergarten for visually impaired children. During my Au Pair year, I was able to travel around and realized that Zürich is a great place for me.

Now, I am planning in advance how I would be able to move to Zürich by either working, studying, or volunteering on year 2025. These are the breakdown of my thoughts:

  1. Working - Although I have experiences in terms of taking care of children, I am having difficulties to find job opportunities because of my educational background. K-12 is not recognized enough in the educational system in Europe (I think also in Switzerland). Would there still be a job opportunity for me to take? I am open to everything even careers without the involvement of children.
  2. Studying - As someone who only has few savings (from Au Pairing and volunteering), it is not enough for me to continue my studies considering the fact that I also need to present a monetary proof that I can provide for myself during the time of my studies. Are there schools who provide scholarships for internationals and provide a shared apartment? (I think it is too good to be true haha)
  3. Volunteering - So far, volunteering is the most convenient way for me. With this, I am currently doing my research on which industry I should take. So far, being involved in the medical field (Pediatrics) is the most interesting for me (though I do not have any educational background).

Do you have any idea, tips, or suggestions on how I could move to Switzerland? What steps should I take and things to consider? It would be great if you could share a piece of your mind and advice me on this!

Many thanks in advance!
