Hi All

I am looking for a suitable qualified person that could help to liquidate a German company.

I am a qualified accountant but do not speak German so can't lead the process myself.

Its just a company on paper with a bank account with a small balance so this should be the simplest example of a Liquidation, i.e. company is not trading, there are no employees, company does not have a physical office (uses Domiciliation services), there are no outstanding creditors, etc

Rather than a Accounting firm (with an unjustifiably high cost for a simple non-trading company) I thought this is a Task that an Individual could perform.

Any individuals suitably qualified I would be glad to hear from and we can agree price, etc.

Or any other advice on how to do this at lowest cost is welcomed.

Many thanks

P.S. On a side note what would be the implications if a non-trading German company (similar to the one detailed above) was abandoned by Director and stopped filing Financial Statements, tax returns, etc? Would company be eventually be struck-off? Would be  cheaper option than official Liquidation.

I believ the owner(s) - or somebody with a full power of attorney - should just de-register the business.

Accountants are the right people to approach - not strangers on the Internet!

If you cannot pay the cost of closing the business, you should not have opened it. The alternative is declaring insolvency, in which case all further steps will be done by an officially appointed liquidator - but this could have unintended consequences like never bein able to open a business here again.

@beppi thanks but the accountants we have quoted an extortionate amount to liquidate company (that's why I posted here to try find some "leads"). That's why I thought a suitably qualified person could do it personally, as an on the side job; for a fraction of the cost (but obviously a worthwhile fee for them personally). If they were a professional and registered to a suitable qualified body this reduces risk rather than getting an unknown "stranger".

Honestly sounds like wishful thinking that one can get around the fees. No such thing as a "suitable person" other than a lawyer or maybe a certified accountant. Not how things are done in Germany, not legally anyway.

The fees are there for a reason, not just profiteering: Taking on such jobs require a high level of responsibility and risk - and the related insurances aren't cheap.

@beppi Little risk in this case as only asset company has is small bank bank balance. If a quote of +€10k is not profiteering then I don't no what is.

And yes, I'm looking for a qualified person like a certified accountant / lawyer that could do it personally at a much lower cost ...

@declanmci Doing such a job without proper responsibility and insurance looks less than trustworthy to me. Why would you give the task to such a person? I think you should just accept that you made a mistake by registerung the business and pay for the consequences - instead of looking for a semi-legal "cheap" solution!
