What if no decision is made before your VISA End date in Application?

Post new topic

Dear Members,

Posting a topic to get better insights about my situation with your experience.

Context :

VISA Duration applied for is from November 2023 to June 2024 (Non EU).

Applied for BE VISA Type D (with long term work permit) along with Spouse through VFS India, Nov 2023.

My VISA was approved by Indian Belgium Embassy with in 1 week, but sadly my Spouse VISA was held needing additional document. We've submitted the missing doc and file is transferred to BE Immigration for Decision since then.

I've moved to Belgium in January 2024 alone on Employers requirement and RP Card is in progress.

But for spouse, it's been 3 months since application and status is still "In Behandeling" in Dofi.

Query:

What if Immigration fails to send Decision by June i.e. ,before the VISA  End Date we filled in Application ?

And these days in general, how long Immigration is taking to decide approve/reject Spouse VISA?

Please share your valuable insights with you expertise and experience, in order to plan things better.

Thank you in advance.

Izca

I dont understand what you meant with End Date. Does it mean the two of you plan to live in Belgium only until June 2024?

However, about the waiting time I compile some information shared on this forum started on February 2023 up to November 2023.

Total sample: 18 (I only include data with clear dates of registration and approvals).

Visa approved less than 2 months: 0

Approved less than 3 months: 4 (22% of samples / cum. 22% of samples)

Approved less than 4 months: 6 (33% of samples / cum. 55% of samples)

Approved less than 5 months: 3 (16% of samples / cum. 72% of samples)

Approved less than 6 months: 4 (33% of samples / cum. 94% of samples)

Approved more than 6 months: 1 (6% of samples / cum. 100% of samples)

I know this calculation is not the most accurate because the size of the samples is not ideal, but hopefully it can give you a glimpse about the waiting time.

@Izca

Thanks for responding.  By End date I meant - VISA validity end Date that we see on VISA stamping.

When we apply visa for the first time, initially we mention the duration of days/ Start - End Date. Later, once we arrive we can apply RP which becomes your valid proof to enter Belgium again.

But for the first time, the entry is possible only  within the VISA validity right ? I was referring to this date as End Date.

And no, we've planned to stay for long term in here.
