Hi all,

Im a dutch nationality holder and my spouse is pakistani.

We got married on the 24th of january and I'm currently due to move to Belgium. I was born and raised in Amsterdam and moved to the UK in 2013 and have now decided after my wedding to move to Belgium.

I've got my registration with the commune appointment on 16th of February and will hopefully register my marriage once thebpolice have visited me.

Now my question is, do I apply for a Visa C? My wife is currently in Pakistan so what exactly is the process if someone could let me know please.

Kind regards

Farhad

Anyone that can help me please guys?

Visa C is almost impossible if you are already married. The Immigration Office will always refuse due to the risk of settlement (= vestigingsgevaar)

You have no choice and must apply for Visa D family reunification.

I'm following advice from this website and filled out a simulator which then gave me the advice that is mentioned on this link:

https://www.vreemdelingenrecht.be/verbl … echtgenoot

I also checked this website:

https://pakistan.diplomatie.belgium.be/ … tion-visas

And it mentions on both that I will have to follow the Visa C route so I'm quite confused lol.

Can you please explain me if you don't mind?

Hmmm, on second thought, I have to agree with you.

You will go the so-called "Belgium route"

Your partner can come to belgium under "EU richtlijn 38/2004" and that's visa C.

Once your partner is in Belgium, you will start the procedure for family reunification.

Thanks for your help sir.

If you don't mind me asking, do I need to show my employment status along with housing etc? Or is that not required for visa C.
