Uk spouse visa apply within the uk

Hello all.

my girlfriend is Swiss and is planning on moving to the uk permanently with me in September. I’ve noticed it says on the uk gov website that the application can be done within the uk but it doesn’t state if this is for someone who already holds a visa before hand. My question would be, is she able to apply within the UK using my address? We weren’t sure if she had to apply within Switzerland and keep her current address there to receive the spouse visa or possibly visit the British embassy there. Many thanks

You can't apply for a family visa while in the UK on a visitor visa which I assume is what your girlfriend would have in this case.

If your girlfriend is in the UK on a visitor visa and wants to stay permanently, she likely can't apply for a family visa while she's here, so she might need to apply from Switzerland or visit the British embassy there.
