Targeting areas with modernization and low tourism

Hello all,
I'm not suggesting I WANT to live on or near beach front areas, but I needed to find a way to show an area on the map with a link. No uploady.
Along the course in this map link, and to the East a ways, does anyone know and or live in these areas? Are they good location? If you have some personal experience, might you PM me about it?
I've spent soooo much time looking for property to purchase in various areas, and most of it was so utterly abysmal, not even a good candidate for renovations. Burn it down. Even a ghost wouldn't stay in that crap.
Thanks in advance for your expert recommendations and links to resources!
Cheers
It's the "Silver Coast" to English speaking people who have been getting the real estate pitches. I'd say over-rated, but really only because of their success at pitching it - nice area, where the good deals that made it a truly good thing have been snapped up.
For a place that has active modern infrastructure and practically zero tourist value, I don't know, how about Entroncamento? A big railway exchange, presumably a modicum of industry. And of course there you are, right on the rail lines to North, East and South.
@BOONDOCK-SAINT I hear that california is nice this time of year...

What does this have to with the topic? 🤔

I've got to know the area well over the past many years. I suggest, as you've done vast research, you choose your words better or some people (me) will get very offended.
"Burn it down. Even a ghost wouldn't stay in that crap."
What do you want? What are your search criteria on these real estate platforms? How much do you want to spend? Ghosts usually choose palaces, not crap ruins...
Here are some options. Try renting one of them, I think you'll regret it.... nobody's been able to live there for dozens and dozens of years...
@donn25
Thank you, much appreciated. I've heard the term Silver Coast, but I didn't use it as I wasn't sure of the boundaries etc.
You bring up a great point about about the RR and lines, I want to stay away from that also.
I learned from one of our SME relocation folks that I'm only able to do a Digital Nomad visa. It might be too much to try and buy a house in advance, and easier to just lease a condo or apartment on a property with the best hope of quite I can get vetted.
On the whole though, this stretch of land North to South, and maybe a hundred k to the east, this is good area? I get the impression that rent is at a premium in these places.

@JohnnyPT
Thanks, duly noted. The properties are a real ruins, so maybe a better word would have been "demolished"; but i digress. It's not my aim to offend, on the whole.
I've been using idealista.pt/en/ to search for houses and not knowing the geography so well, had to set the minimum price to around $100,000eu to filter out the junk. I found a few places that wouldn't require a lot of renovation. Anything less seems to require lot's of modernization and renovation, and the listing had fake pics of what the property COULD look like.
So I decided to narrow down the search area and accept to spend a little more $, thus the post.
@BOONDOCK-SAINT
Maybe you should visit, instead of just viewing properties online, you would get a better picture.
With 100k euros you won't buy almost anything on the coast... you need to find out more about house prices...
All that may be true, but the point is "IS THIS A GOOD AREA" and is there anyone that lives IN THESE areas that has expert knowledge. Not too hot, not too cold, not too touristy, NOT by the RR tracks, decent infra and internet etc etc.
After years I know this area well.
You seem to just want subjective opinions based but lack of knowledge/experience of the area. THIS IS AN GOOD AREA as the many who live here and have lived here for years should indicate to you. No one, except you can decide if it's Not too hot, not too cold, not too touristy ...................... decent infra and internet etc etc. for you. You may find that few people who live in the area will engage with your request as you insult their, their families, friends etc homes Quote "most of it was so utterly abysmal, not even a good candidate for renovations. Burn it down. Even a ghost wouldn't stay in that crap" without knowing the first thing about them. You also miss the basics that a lot of Portugal is not interweb based so making a visit in person the only way to gain knowledge of the area.
If you're looking for 100k eur property near the beach, what will you find? Huge ruins to be highly remodelled or small houses where not even a ghost can fit... In conclusion, nothing better than finding out more... locally, looking at houses and talking to various people...
What you will find in Portugal is that there are 3 types of properties in Portugal.
Ruins - dirt cheap, every second youtube channel shows "I am fixing up a cheap ruin". Many of them get ruined in the process. They are cheap for a reason - ever wonder why so few Portuguese people buy them? They have endless problems, ranging from legal issues, to construction problems and sometimes you might not even be able to live in them.
Cheaper properties that appear to be okay - they often have some kind of problem, whether it is needing fixing up, or problems with the papers etc. But, be prepared to pay out lots of money in these situations too, because they are cheaper for a reason.
Nice looking places - be prepared to pay a LOT for these. These are places that have no problems and are done up, ready to move into. You will be surprised that these types of properties are often much more expensive than your own country.
Renting - absolute best option IMO, in the beginning. But! with the housing crisis in Portugal, it is now very expensive if you can even get a place. Just look in Idealista - often 1000 email enquiries on the first day that a property is listed!
Well, yes, there are ruins for sale, and I don't think very many people going to take it personally if one mentions this. I think the core of the problem appears to be this collision between budget and market. Not many years ago, there were wonderful deals to be had. Now, not really so much, and there's a lot that can go wrong when trying to dig out what's left.
Specifically regarding internet access: that's one thing we can characterize unambiguously, but can't inform anyway -- you have to check. That isn't a regional variable, it's neighborhood variable.
@BOONDOKSAINS: we buy about 3 months ago a property 8 km closed to Nazare. We have to renovate the house and later on to rebuild so far that we can start a Airbnb business.
We are 15 min. from Hospital, Shopping center, and the beach in Nazare. We have a bus direct to Lisbon (1:45 hrs, for 10,25€, 5 times per day).
Budget: our property has agriculture area and urban, a great view from the top of the hill to Nazare. In this position we are good protected from the sharp ocean wind. For an project like this you can plane 90k to 130k for the acquisition (not a ruine), later other 50-75k to make all top.
In our initial plan we are thinking about 60% for what we are get it now. The property has a huge potential as well request from us some additional efforts!
That it, come to this area, it's one of the best in Pt.
Good luck
