Staying in Spain, Irish Passport Question Bank Account/Health Ins

I have been doing some research as I want to spend around 4-5 months a year in Spain. As I understand it, if I am travelling on an Irish Passport and want to stay for an extended period of time. I will need health insurance and a bank account with 7000 euros in it. At what stage do I need to purchase the health insurance and open the bank account and deposit the 7000 euros.

If you already have an Irish (EU) passport, it is much easier. You need to do the EU Citizen Registration process at the immigration office near your new Spanish home.

The process is described here:

They give you a little paper certificate, and now you're a legal Spanish resident.

You book appointments online:

You might get away without a Spanish bank account, if you have a bank account elsewhere with a big chunk of savings. But the best proof is a local Spanish account, with a sizable balance, and with an official bank-stamped statement (rather than printed off the internet). This needs to be done before your appointment (but not too much before, otherwise your bank statement is out of date).

The health insurance should be valid for a year, so it should start on the date of your appointment, or just before.

Check the requirements carefully regarding your address. I believe you should put an address on your application, but I don't think they need you to confirm it with a rental contract or a padron certificate.
