I cannot recall but have read it somewhere that wife and dependents of the person holding work permit (employment pass) can get jobs. I do not have much knowledge about it so cannot confirm this.

I was under the impression this was changing. When we came 9 months ago the answer was No, their passport is stamped that they can not work. But I keep hearing that they will soon be able to work without themselves getting an employment pass....how long this will take to come through though I don't know!

Rubber stamp process....Look under dependent pass. The only thing she needs is a job offer and a letter of No Objection from your employer.

I have not yet heard the exact response to the question. Can someone tell if wife can work on dependent visa or will have to take employment pass/WP for her also?

hrfirst

Yes she can work but she needs to apply for work permit.

Wat is your wife profession?

First and foremost your wife need to find a job. Once it is done, her new employer will get her work permit(in most of the cases).
Scene can be more cleared after discussing with new employer.

No you cant bring your wife unless you earn more than RM5k per month and your immigration is an Employment Pass. That is given to professional staff with university-level qualifications.

I am an educationist with more than twenty years of experience in teacher training, curriculum development, learning and teaching, school management and leadership. I have established several schools by being with well known chains of International schools in Pakistan. I have studied from University of Strathclyde Scotland on Scholarship. I am here in KL from last two months on dependent visa, I am looking for an Internationl school or organisation who can take advantage of my expertise by hiring me and helping to change my dependent pass into work.
