Hello, I am of French nationality and I have been living in Laos for a year and a half. I have been married to a Lao woman for a month, a marriage approved by the Lao authorities. I no longer have a valid visa on my passport today. The person who did the marriage arrangements for me told me I no longer need it. If I am checked, I just need to present my passport and family record book showing that I am married to a Lao woman. Can you tell me if this person is right? THANKS

Do you have a marriage visa.

If you have this, then you can apply for a foreign spouse visa.

There is an application procedure you have to follow which needs documentation.
