Cost of living in Alanya (Mahmutlar)

There are many websites to show the cost of living in Turkey, however to me they same to be outdated (I give some updates from time to time).

Some of the websites show far too low expenses.

Real estate prices are in general with my experience

Supermarket/market prices are not excessive and still in line (even if a bit understated)

A lot of news on increasing prices of alcohol and cigarettes (my experience is different (ie no real increases))

Taxes are still very low

Where we see big increased prices (in EUR)

-Restaurants (in our case a big part of the budget), when we came a few years ago for EUR 30 (me and my wife) was very possible, now even if a budget restaurants you can count EUR 40 to EUR 50; a more advanced restaurant EUR 55 to EUR 60 (orange juice, soup, main and tea (good service though). (Minimal salary and energy are probably the biggest drivers). Restaurants are suffering (locals do not come anymore, but even tourists prefer to stay away in All-in). Many restaurants close down

-Aidat (also in EUR) increasing quite a bit (but in my view it should be (far too low in general)

-Hairdresser (I try to avoid anyhow) so I do not care too much (in general just shaving)

-Health insurance (but then again we get older every year)

I remain with my view that EUR 3000 pm is needed (ALL in) for a couple to enjoy a good luxury life.

I saw on channels that as a single (owner) you can live for EUR 450 pm (in my view to get a comfortable life it is not possible). No reason to live in Alanya if you do not enjoy.

For a single (as an owner) very good life is possible for EUR 1500

It looks like you wrote this post to talk to yourself. :) Just kidding!

I believe 1,000 Euros a month provides a comfortable lifestyle in Turkey. With 1,500 Euros, you can enjoy more frequent weekend trips. Spending 3,000 Euros monthly is excessive; even wealthy Russians don't typically spend that much. The government minimum for residency is 800 Euros for a single adult. Personally, running several companies in Antalya, my monthly expenses, including weekend trips, range from 1,500 to a maximum of 2,000 USD. I can't imagine who would spend 100,000 Turkish Lira a month for a single adult in Turkey, not even the residents of Bodrum spend that much. It really depends on the lifestyle.

Everything is relative to expectations but I would agree that $1,625 (EUR 1500) not including rent/mortgage for most couples should provide a fulfilling lifestyle.  I can guess that if food expenses are mostly derived from eating out, then it would make sense to budget $2,166 (EUR 2000) PM.

I am not residing in Türkiye just yet but I have visited sufficiently to draw this estimate.   By the way, last week my family of three ate at a Turkish restaurant in Minneapolis and the three entrees (only water with our meal and no dessert) cost $72 including tip.

@d4zt7bsj I am married, so it is for two, still I have to admit it on the higher side (but we are both a bit older (healthcare and medicines are making a difference)

@Gino_C USD 72 sounds a bit expensive, cheaper in Turkey (even in Alanya), still levels here are close to what you mention (but with fresh orange juice , bread (and sauces) soup a main dish and Turkish tea (but I have to say excellent service). But USD 72 sounds too high definitely.

Here close to EUR 60 (as above)
