Post new topic

Hi

My name is Fahmi, I am a new expatriate in Malaysia. if everything goes smoothly I will move to Malaysia end of August depending on visa approval.

yesterday I watched YouTube and they said; that as expatriates we have to pay 30% tax. Is that true? or are there certain sectors that pay 30% of the tax?

other questions; how many days will our visa be approved by Malaysian Immigration? How do we check visa status?

I need this information. Hope you all help me to answer my question.

Greetings

Fahmi

You pay 30% tax until you become a tax resident. Once you have achieved tax resident status - usually after six months - you can apply to get any excess taxes refunded.
