I've noticed that some of the sections on this site for other countries seem to have no problem with posting direct web links containing dots.

Just what is the deal on Expat when it comes to such links and which ones do/don't work?

Hello,

Links are allowed (with or without dots, it doesn't matter). Once you post a link, if the system already knows the link, it will appear right away, if not, it is sometimes put under validation (pending mode). A mod has to verify the link and validate it.

I would suggest that you put the link as such (without changing the . to dot) it will be in pending mode for a while but eventually will appear (except if the link is not validated - links to other social network or harmful, doubtful links, links to non secured websites etc)
