If you are a Bangladeshi citizen traveling in Vietnam with a Vietnamese tourist visa, you are not eligible to apply for a Thailand tourist visa from Vietnam. To obtain a Thailand tourist visa from Vietnam, Bangladeshi passport holders must possess a temporary or permanent residence permit (TRC/PRC) in Vietnam. This permit is a long-term stay permit for living or working in Vietnam.

According to the website of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, it clearly states that:

"Citizens from the following countries (including Bangladesh) can apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City if they have residence in Vietnam or meet certain conditions. If not, applicants are highly recommended to apply for a visa in their home countries."

Documents Required for Bangladeshi Citizens Applying for a Thai Tourist Visa from Vietnam:

  1. Passport: Valid for at least six months.
  2. Visa Application Form: Completed and signed.
  3. Photographs: Three passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) taken within the last six months.
  4. Temporary/Permanent Residence Card in Vietnam: A copy of the Vietnamese residence card with a legalization stamp from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations.
  5. Work Permit: A copy of the work permit or business registration with a legalization stamp from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations.
  6. Travel Itinerary: Confirmed round-trip ticket or a confirmed ticket showing a transit in Thailand.
  7. Accommodation: Confirmed booking of accommodation with the name of the applicant and the date matching the travel ticket.
  8. Employment Letter: A letter from the company where the applicant is working, with the signature of an authorized person and the legal stamp of the company.
  9. Financial Evidence: Proof of adequate finances, equivalent to 20,000 Baht per person or 40,000 Baht per family.

These terms are applicable to the citizens of 26 countries who are not entitled to a VOA, a visa exemption, or an eVisa to visit Thailand. It is not exclusive to the citizens of Bangladesh.

Further, these terms are not imposed due to the Bangladesh citizen (or the citizen of any of the other 25 countries) residing in Vietnam. The terms are applicable to citizens of those 26 countries regardless of where they currently reside. Confirmation of this can be found here.
