My husband moved to the UK from Brazil, we married and he is now on the 2.5 yr spouse visa. He has a new Evisa which shows a code to give to an employer but he needs a NI number for something else but im under the understanding his NI number is linked to his evisa but we are unable to find it. Any one had this issue? TIA

Has he applied for a NI number? As this is separate

@tt20158 It is perfectly legal and possible to work without an NI number, but the NI number is used to keep track of tax payments and so makes life very much easier for the employer as well as for the worker.

There is a fairly convoluted process for obtaining an NI number: it is not provided along with the e-visa number. Explore official websites to find out how to get this number.

Sounds like your husband may need to apply for a National Insurance (NI) number separately, as it's not automatically linked or visible on his eVisa. While the eVisa code helps with the right to work, the NI number usually requires a separate application process. He can apply for an NI number online through the UK government’s website.
