American retiree moving to Canada

Post new topic

I am a retired US schoolteacher thinking of repatriating to Canada. I would probably stay fairly close to the US border and continue to get my healthcare in the US. I don’t need much, I don’t want to take anything from Canada except enjoy its freedom and it’s beauty. I’m pretty self-sufficient and am wondering what towns within 100 miles of the US border would be appealing for a retiree. I prefer a town under 100,000. I’m hoping to get some answers here. Thank you so much.

I like how you stated your purpose.  My wife and i are retired also and would like to do the same thing.

Hi and best of luck to you and your wife.  I hope to get answers here.  I have until August 2025 to fulfill a lease obligation.  Maybe we’ll meet up in Canada some day.
