Registration and Annex 49

Post new topic

Good morning everyone!

From 2023 to 2024, I was on an orientation visa and found a job at the very end of my stay. However, since my employer applied very late, I had to deregister and leave Belgium recently.

Now I can still follow the SP through the social security website via Itsme, as I already have a national registration number.

1. Does having this number make the process faster?

2. Once I receive my visa D and return to Belgium, can I start working immediately, or will I still need the annex 49?

3. Is it difficult to get an early appointment at the Bruges commune? My priority is to start the job as soon as possible. Would it be better to seek registration in a smaller city rather than a bigger one to get the annex 49 faster, or does it not make a difference?

Thank you very much!

Appointment very easy no problem with that.

No it will not make process faster

Yes once your visa is approved you can work next day you arrive

Thank you very much! Is it because I have the national registration number that I can start immediately? Because I keep seeing in the thread people saying that we can't work until we have the annex 49

Neither NSS nor visa does provide you right to work.

You have to have an annex49 (residency permit) to work.

Some people are here mixing apple and pear.

Thank you very much I really needed this information, do you have any idea about my other questions please

1-No NSS does not make any process faster. In case of you dont have it at all prior registiration a random NSS will be assigned and once you are under social security a final NSS will be given YYMMDDXXXZZ

2-Already an answer given.

3-I dont know Brugges but in close to Brugge (Oostende) i already know it easier.

When i compare Brussels or Antwerpen with Brugge i guess you will get faster.

Good luck.
