Land and Property Tax

Post new topic

Can someone please explain to me this land and property tax recently introduced in Thailand. My Thai wife owns just under 2 Rai of land which is unused and we also have a property in Thailand which we use as our holiday home. If a tax is payable, who administers this? Advice appreciated.

It's the Local Municipality administration or Amphoe in Thai that normally is sending a letter by registered mail every year to the owner's name and address.

If not received you can just go there and ask, they will check and give you a copy by hand, even if delayed payment there is very low interest that will be added.

Thanks mate, we’ll just have to wait and see if there’s any mail for us when we get back.
