hey ya'll, my name is eric. me and my partner jessica are planning to move to da nang this year. we have two cats and one dog. as far as i can tell, we are each allowed to bring two animals into vietnam without an import license. am i understanding this right? also, when we do our visa runs, is there anything we need to do about the animals visas each time? is there anyone on this site who has done this? do you have any advice or tips for us? thanks

I brought my dog here 2 years ago. Its extremely important to follow every rule exactly. Once you bring them keep in mind its very, very difficult to take back depending on what country. I am from the US and I didnt realize that after 6 months taking my dog back would have been the same as bringing a vietnamese dog to the US for the first time. I would highly recomend an extremely experienced agent to help. Ill DM you with the only agent I know of that does this on the regular. You really dont want to take any risks here. Vietnam can be extremely picky with bringing in animals. You can have everything perfect and still run into trouble like I did when they wouldnt let us leave the airport claiming that my documents werent right (even though they were). We got in but I think they just wanted extra money.

IF you manage to successfully import your pets into Vietnam, it's highly recommended that you make plans to have your pets cared for or kenneled in Vietnam during your visa border runs.

Hopefully you can imagine why this is the smartest and safest and easiest solution without me needing to spell out all of the reasons.

Good luck.

thanks OceanBeach92107, we have been planning to do our border runs on separate days, so one of us will always be with the animals just in case something goes wrong at the border.

Apologies for not replying earlier, but staggering you border runs was precisely what I was going to suggest.

Good to see you've already thought of that.
