Looking to start a business in Saigon I am Australia does anyone know the rules or someone who is good at this to help me I contacted lawyer but he wants five hundred us an hour these lawyers never cease to amaze me - @lambieallan
Well here's the first "rule":
When you create a new thread in this forum and you want serious replies from qualified people who know about the subject, you should take a moment or two and compose a thread title that will pop up on people's internet searches.
Nobody is searching for "Allan Lambie", and if they see it pop up in their news feed they don't have a clue what it means.
I know a couple of lawyers here and I think you got that response because they don't take people like you seriously.
they aren't looking to "sit down" long distance with a foreigner and help you think through the process of what it is you want to do and how it is you want to do it.
if you are truly an experienced business person and you have already developed a business plan and you've already located a brick and mortar location for your busines and you are fully aware of supply chain issues and the current local market for your service, then you simply contact an attorney who advertises for helping you submit the proper documentation and capital contribution required, depending upon the visa status that you hope to have in connection with your business.
however it appears that you are attempting to make a connection long distance and you are lucky that somebody hasn't been successful in scamming you with a more modest offer and requirement for a reasonable retainer.
no legitimate lawyer is going to want to establish a relationship with you long distance.
You are going to need to come here and meet with lawyers face to face in order to determine who you want to hire.
otherwise if you learn how to use Google translate you can search for an attorney here and a number of websites will pop up with information about requirements.
Then of course you need to use the translation function in order to read those websites.
These are not unreasonable requirements for you to meet in order to do business in the 21st century.
Depending upon the business that you want to establish you are probably going to need to have a Vietnamese partner.
The wise thing to do would be to come here and spend some time attempting to network in person with fellow entrepreneurial spirits who have some interest in the business you hope to establish.
