Lennardtay,

Try this place: it is commonly known as "Banh Mi O Moi."  It has another name, but that is what people in District 1 refer to it as and that is what I remember.  It is located on Le Thi Rieng St., in that intersection where New World Hotel is.  Once you get to that street, just ask around.  It is my favorite.

Totally agree with you.Banh mi Ha Noi and Banh mi Nhu Lan are the best. However, they only have crispy roast pork or smoked ham.For the authentic taste, you gotta try the streetside stalls but be aware of hygienic issue. You may want to take sometimes for your digestive system to get used to the foods around here before trying it out ;)

Dear Lennard,

I have tried recently good sandwich. In a local stall. In the corner of Ho Tung Mau and Ham Nghi street district 1.They are selling soup too
Vegetables + BBQ meat. 25.000 VND

Otherwise vietnamese people do like to eat sandwich for breakfast so better to buy it in the morning, to avoid stomachache.

enjoy

Saigon Restaurant 178/4 Pasteur. Good to bring gf or client. Very homely decor with alfresco area. There will be a French chef introducing the menu in his French accent. Very entertaining and impressive. Pricing is reasonable too. Food quality will be a 9/10 to me.
