Hi all,

we invite you to share your experience about moving to Armenia.

Here is a list of questions which might help the ones preparing their move to Armenia:

What would you bring and what would you leave behind?

Is it a good idea to bring furniture or domestic appliances?

Any foodstuffs that are banned in Armenia?

Is it better to bring a car or to buy one once settled in Armenia?

Any advice for the ones who are moving to Armenia?

Thank you in advance for your participation :)

Can just say that there are no food or meat or drink that are banned in Armenia.
Unfortunately I can't help with the other questions.
Although there are a lot of furnished apartments for rent.

The car situation gets tricky. I'll try to break it down. If you live In a neighboring country, then bringing your car to Armenia may seem like a better idea than buying one there. However, keep in mind this is ONLY if you're visiting. If you're planing to move there, then it's wise to sell your car, move there, than purchase a new one.

Unless you're from a far away country, like Canada, or the states. In which case you DEFINETLY shouldn't bring your car (weather you're visiting or moving there permenantly)

It Costs from $1,000 - $2,000 to transfer the car there, then based on how many liter's your car is will be the customs fee. So if you drive a 1.8L car it may range from $3,000-7,000. However if you own a hummer, you may end up paying $15,000-$20,000 for the customs. Generally speaking, you should ONLY bring your car, if you're 1) from a neighboring country 2) visiting for less than a year.
