American Airlines has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The airlines use this financial device to slough off union contracts and other contracts and fines they don't want to pay.

Te only airline not to use this (legal) trick is Southwest Airlines

How will it affect you?.

It won't, but keep in touch with your travel agent. Booked via Expedia or Travelocity - tough, good luck finding their Customer Service.

AA has billions in cash funds and it is still buying 400 new aircraft

AA the people who brought you charged checked luggage and the people who brought you paid food,as well. Real nasty airline, pity the pensioners.

They will no doubt start charging to use the toilet on-board soon.

1 airline has already started charging to use the restroom. Regional carrier in Great Britian.

Normal processing time: is usually 2-3 business days. You can speed up the process by applying for same day or next day processing with some additional fee.

For same-day processing: If you apply before 8 A.M. Monday to Friday (Vietnam time, GMT +7), you will receive your approval letter by noon of the same day. If you apply after noon, you will receive your approval letter by 5 P.M. Any application made after 5 P.M. will be processed by noon the next working day.

My first trip to Viet Nam I went on American Airlines. The seats were cramped and the service bad. I have been back 5 times since then but used Korean Air. The seats are more comfortable, the service is great and the food is also good. If you go the right time of the year the fare is also very competitive.
