Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give insight as to how expensive it is to send mail and small packages from Luanda to the US, for example.  What are the options/carriers to do so?

You can try DHL or Skynet in Luanda.

DHL Express conducts business for Angola in the following location.
DHL International Ltd.
Avendida Khane Nkrummah 274/276
G/F
PO Box 1545
Luanda

Opening Hours

Sat 08:30-12:00
Sun Closed

I am not sure what you will pay, but you can always phone and ask, it depends on the weigh off course, I paid in Dec 2011 for exam papers back to the UK about $90 and the weigh was around half a kg or 0.5kg

Unfortunately I cant find any office locations for Skynet in Luanda.

Not very far above the SA Embassy you will find another small DHL branch where you can walk in and post or receive parcels. I cant remember the street name, but its the road that runs right past the SA Embassy(Blue Building) and straight in the direction of the Church Sagrada Familia. It on your right hand side about 100 meters passed the embassy building.
