what are the prerequisites on iqama for professionals??

Post new topic

DOCJhoy

i've been in the kingdom since nov28 and i got a problem with my employer so i had to stop working..my present sponsor gave me the chance to look for another employer but he was not able to process my iqama yet so i dont have it yet. the prospective employers are asking for an iqama so i asked my sponsor about that thou he told me that an iqama is better be issued by the new sponsor..but one of the prospective employer told me that the system here in KSA "no iqama,no transfer of sponsorship"..is that true?? and is the saudi council a prerequisite for the iqama?? who is supposed to shoulder the expenses on the iqama?? i dont know if the people are just doing delaying tactics..my entry visa is expiring soon this month and i know there will be a bigger problem if that happens..
hope u could enlighten me on these matters because it's very hard to communicate on people here and even our embassy they don't reply.. thank u so much..

Yes, unfortunately this is right.

Yes, this is true too.

Your sponsor.

Feeling sorry for the situation; I believe the only thing possible is to get your sponsor issue your Iqama. I have no idea why he's unable to do that yet. This is quite unusual.

Please personally visit your embassy and ask for their assiatance as well.

All the Best!

hi, welcome to this blog, did ur iqama expires or u never had it, bc one my friend iqama expires for 6 months, but still he got transfer before 2 days to a new kafeel.

TheLegendLeads

She never got it and her visa period will expire soon. In stead of providing her the iqama, his sponsor is asking her to go to some other sponsor.

danish luv

then he have to give her a transfer letter, and new kafeel will do the next procedure, simple

danish luv

@ DOCJhoy, ur current kafeel have to give u transfer letter, and u handover it to new kafeel, he will submit this case to interior ministry or mekteb amel. U have to face expensives. But some sponsers here dont give letter bc the government will ask them, if u dont need employee, y u need visa. And government dont issue such persons more visa, thats y some persons here just do " visa bussiness" and dont think about others

TheLegendLeads

@danish,
Review the case. She NEVER got her iqama from her Kafeel. It's not possible to get visa transfered to another sponsor without having an Iqama.

Even if she had iqama, it's not possible to get sponsoiship changed in the first 2 years. These are the current rules of Jawazat KSA.

I am afraid if my suggested solution doesn;t work, she'll have to leave the country and start the hiring procedure ALL over.

danish luv

oh ya, its impossible to transfer before 2 years, its the problem, have to go back

DOCJhoy

thanks to u all..
now from ur discussions, i guess i have another problem.. no transfer of sponsorship within 2 years?? so why don't my prospective employer hire me and process my iqama?? why doesnt he want to accept me as his employee without an iqama from my previous sponsor?? if doing an exit is the only way why does my sponsor doesnt suggest that even my agency in the philippines?? they made me wait and i think i'm waiting for nothing.. they dont even gave me my salary for 1 month because they told me it's my placement fee..i am hesitant to approach the embassy because i think there will be more complications..to be honest, now i dont know what to do if to push through with the saudi council and iqama application or just to exit..

I have to agree with TLL, your only real option now is to leave and come back - It seems unlikely your current "employer" is going to be willing to do your iqama just for you to transfer. I think you really should head to your embassy for more info and the best way is to just go home and apply from the start, seems the safest way - you want to be stuck here having overstayed and with no money coming in.

TheLegendLeads

Yes @LW, I wish we could do something for her.

@DOCJhoy,
To me, it seems all of them are just playing around with you.

The best course of action is:
- Talk to your sponsor and let him NOT waste any more time.
- Contact your embassy also and ask assistance. I'm sure you are not alone who is facing such problem.
- If nothing works, please leave before your visa expires.

Remember: Overstayers don't fly back free of charge. The passports department @ airport penalizes them. So make sure you don't be an over-stayer.

Stay cool and take your chances/decisions. May God be with you.

It seems approaching your embassy and a safe exit is the best option available for you.

Good Luck !!

DOCJhoy

thank u.. but they told me they are already processing my iqama, i filled up a form for the saudi council..i dont know really what to do..

DOCJhoy

@saimans i am hessitant to approach the embassy because i think there will be more problem..i have told them before of my problem and they want me to formally complain my sponsor..i told them i am just reporting these things to them if worse comes to worst..

Since my stay here, I have come to know that there is no gurantee of the verbal commitments. I would still tell you to be cautious, till you get ur iqama in ur hands and also keep an eye on the expiry of the Visa.

Good Luck !!

Transfer of visa not necessary after 2 years, it could b within 6 months. Next month government will ease these transfer issues, make sure with ur sponser what he is doing. Many expats facing problems like these, best of luck dear

I don't get this, if the Lady has no Iqama, how will she exit??

Please note that this thread is 2 yrs old. The labor market/law situation was different from how it's today.

Anyways to answer your question, you need a passport to travel, not an iqama. And the exit visa can be obtained in absence of iqama.
