Traffic Cams and Tickets!

Greetings!!

Recently I received not one, but two speeding tickets on the same road ONLY 21 SECONDS APART!!! I was driving down 80 (out close to Jahra) heading towards Kuwait City.

So, I have the question:
IS THIS LEGAL?

I got 2 30KD tickets for the same thing???

If it’s not, how does one go about getting this righted?

Traffic Cams:
The new traffic cams (the little ones that average your speed between two points to see if you have an average speed above the legal limit), are they active yet? And if not, when do they become active?

I still see A LOT of people just flying down the roads still… so I follow suite :P

Thanks in advance for any input (useful of course)!

Evil

No one shared any update on speed cams???

yo SCG, sorry for the delay in reply; was checking with my sources for ur q and then travelling etc. so here we are, from Cairo, with your answer:

you CAN contest the sped ticket when you go to pay your fines at the DMV, the one in shuwaikh i believe, when renewing your licence. so long as no one took your licence, u can delay the payment for long - i have 80KD on my tab and ive been travelling plenty, so they wont be stopping you at the airport any time soon UNLESS its speeding above the limit by more than 50KM/H. thats a court order immediately.

its preferable to have someone who can speak arabic with you as the cops at the DMV tend to not speak english most of the time.

as for the new cameras, ur guess is as good as mine. some are in effect - the one on the first ring road was the first to be installed. others, like the one on airport road, have yet to be fitted. better safe than sorry tho. seeing as how the cams come in couples, just slow down between the markers and u'll be fine.

poor choice of words on that last one :P

As always, thanks for the info! I've already paid it... but I'm kinda pissed about paying it. I have a sponsor company and the guy didn't seem to care. He just said pay it and move on. I'm still thinking abouting contesting it even now...
