Hi

Could you please tell me how long you have to been in Malta before you apply for an ID Card. Also where do you apply for it.

ricky

Hi ladyowl,

welcome to the forum.

As an EU citizen you can apply for the ID card as soon as you have moved to Malta as you are declaring that your permanent residence is in Malta by applying.

You should also apply for a residence certificate at the latest after 3 months in Malta .

You apply for the ID card at the ID card office in the Evans Building in lower Valletta near the MCC.

Applications for residency are processed in the Department of Immigration & Expatriate Affairs at Castille Square in Valletta.

Cheers

Hiya,

you can even Print this and fill it in before going... you will have to wait a week before they send you a letter then bring that back to them to get the card
