Hi Limoncella,

The job market in Swiss is no more so good as in the past. Your Husband have to know french and german (or italien for the canton Ticino) to become a job as Manager in Switzerland.

For the salary, it depend of the job he become. Every sectors are a little bit different.

For the living cost it depend where you live in Swiss. Some place like Zurich, Lausanne, Genève are more expensive as other little town (Lucerne, Biel, Bellinzona)

In Zürich, Genève or Lausanne, to live "well" for a family with 2 children, you need a salary of 6 to 7'000.00 swiss francs.

In other town like Lucerne Biel, bellinzona, you can perhaps live with a salary of 5 to 6'000.00 swiss francs.

You have to know that this given Salary are the minimum you need to have a normal life without Luxus. But a manager win normally much more as these minimum salaries.

It depend of his capacity and the job your husband will become.

Are you sure that your husband can work in switzerland ? first control that please.

good luck

Limoncella

Kind regards,
Fabienne

Sure, some sectors are well working. But it depend which kind of work you search. I think we have 10% of the population which is not working.

I work as manager in a sector where we have allways work. And still in my sector we have less entries as in the past.

Software developpers, ingenieur or manager have a really good salary (more than chf. 10'000.00) but we have to prove our capacity to let the company win money. If your husband can do that, you will have perhaps an opportunity.

But first you have to find the company and to look if your husband can come work in Switzerland.

Hi Superman1978

With 135K you will surely be fine. Thalwil is nice as there is an expat community and an international school (I think it's in Adliswil). For approx 2500-3000chf/month you can rent a 4.5 rooms appartment.

Hope this helps ; )

Hello,

This is an interesting post. 7000 Swiss Francs. Are we talking about gross or nett0 ?

I've been offered a gross salary of 90 000 CHF in Zürich (sales, financial sector, not a manager) and after checking different websites and salary calculators, it doesn't seem to be that much for an experienced employee in this industry in Zürich.

What would be your view about that ?

many thanks for your helpful insight
