Hello Expatians. I thought of this lately, when we look around, and i mean every where in the world, we realize that Egypt is unique and different. Even with its crowded places and many other issues, we find a kind of a beauty somewhere out there, which is actually weird. Despite the recent events, here is the few ones, the optimistic, we can still see the smiles and happiness in their eyes. This is the true beauty of Egypt that lies in the eyes of its kind people. If I traveled the world, I will never find any place that can replace it in my own heart. Its hard to see that things are turning unexpectedly in a different direction to some people, but it saddens me the most when i don't see the smiles i used to see on the faces of young Egyptians.I want everyone, Egyptian or not, to wright what is the best thing he/she likes about Egypt?Maybe we can through away all the negative thoughts, which are triggered in these hard passing times by different TV shows and some other crap, and to remember the beautiful things we have in Egypt. We can remind those who are feeling down and lost their positive attitude in general that there is a lot of things they are missing. Cheers.
proud to be an Egyptian.
"Our attitude toward life determines
life's attitude towards us."
Hi Ibrahim,
Yes Im Egyptian and proud. First Ive to say I agree with everything you said.
Well I cant describe in words how do I feel about Egypt; I just love it I see all what anyone can complain about everyday but I still love Egypt I think its running in my blood.. maybe its like this song (feeha 7aga 7elwa) (theres something lovable in it) maybe I cant name it but I just feel it not only me many Egyptian and foreigners feel it too I work with foreigners and many of them said this same thing to me and they cant explain it too or give it a name they just feel that they like being here and they mess Egypt when they travel even to their homeland.
Hello, Hayam
Thank you for supporting, and for reminding me with this beautiful song. It's one of my favorites. Cheers.
Hello Expatians
Hi Ibrahim,
what about other nationalities ? After all, aren't you on a website for expatriates ?
hey, Julien
yes, that's what i meant anyone, Egyptian or not, can say whatever he/she loves about this country.
hey ibrahim, i admire egyptian's sense of humour and resilience even in the face of adversity...their grace exemplified through faith and courage. beautiful country and captivating people
Yes Egipt is so magical,,and I love to hear good Things about it ,,Hate when ppl always complain and see only the bad,,LOVE EGIPT
Hello Suzie, thank you for your kind words and deep feeling for Egypt and its people . I can sense your words, and i can tell they mirror your own character. Reading between the lines i can see how much you love Egypt, and how much you are someone who is so beautiful, decent, and sincere:). Thanks!
don moe, thanks pal for your support ana telmezak . I was hoping to get more thoughts from others, but your comments made my day. Thanks again man.
hey Mirtajaz, first of all thank. Your words are an eyeopener to many things. Those people, the sad ones, are like the ones who are screaming SOS, and if you don't know the meaning of SOS, its Save Our Sole. Usually for abandoned ships in the middle of the sea. life as we know it is like the deep sea if some one loses hope he / she can slip away and drawn forever. We should help at that point, and at least by changing their perspective toward things. I know in Egypt it is sad, but in reality sadness is the birth of happiness sooner or later everything will drift to its right place, where it is meant to be.
Actually am very upset with the conditions here in Egypt nowadays but I won't deny that I love this country , and the thing that i love in egyptians that they (and am one of them) are so passionate and we do sympathize with others, nice topic Ibrahim!! and I like this sentence: life as we know it is like the deep sea if some one loses hope he / she can slip away and drawn forever.well said!

I agree as we r really have this sense of humour even in the face of adversity, and thank you for ur support
Thanks Semsema im glad you like my post
I've had one or two negative experiences in Egypt, but every time I ask for support, it comes from all directions. People here seem to feel that it is their duty to look out for each other. I have lived in many countries and it's really not the same all over the world.
Egyptians have never failed to be there to save me!

Am happy with that, I know that living here is not easy at all,but ppl here are so helpful as u said and hope you won't face any negative experiences again
The Messenger of Allah said: "Undoubtedly God has removed from you the pride of arrogance of the age of Jahiliyyah (ignorance) and the glorification of ancestors. Now people are of two kinds, they are either believers or transgressors who do wrong. You are all the children of Adam and Adam was made of clay. People should give up their pride in nations because that is a coal from the coals of Hell-fire. If they do not give this up then God will consider them lower than the lowly worm which pushes itself through dung." [Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi].
The Messenger of Allah said referring to nationalism, racism, and patriotism said: "Leave it, it is rotten." [Muslim and Bukhari].
Well Musa, what you have just said is really not simple as it may seem to me. I am certain that God is very merciful. It may seem awkward to say this, but I will, if i was to be judged by God for my sins, I would judge God for his indulgence. Read between the lines, you may take it positively or negatively, it depends on your intuition. so i hope you are the positive one. Also To me, people are all from the same source, and will end there as well. It is said that people are from clay, but believe me its not the clay that we know here on earth it is a metaphor for something else for people to understand. Anyway we don't wanna go in details,im not a priest, i respect all religions, and i agree with everything you have said. But words are tricky my friend and not everything is fully reveled in the holy texts. As i said before i respect your sayings and i hope one day to be as 1/3 of you strong faith. God bless you. I still love Egypt and its my pride!it's not about faith,it's not about arrogance, it's about dignity, and the roots of belonging.Peace.
Burnside, thanks for you kind words.Cheers.
As a foreigner, I have been treated very well here. Everyone makes me feel very welcomed and I dont feel homesick at all. I have learned to love the culture and the way of life here and even when I go home to my country for a holiday, I yeearn to be back to Egypt soon. The bitter sweet of life here makes me appreciate God's blessing. There is something very charming about Egypt which I dont know how to explain. For me, Egypt is magical !! I LOVE EGYPT !!
Thanks Rasel,we all love Egypt.
BarakAllah feeka akhee Musa for the reminder... "And Remind for verily a reminder benefits the believer"(51:55)
I think for those of us who are upon the faith of Islam, it's extremely important to be constantly mindful of the Islamic teachings. Your reminder fulfils its purpose. While we talk about the things that we love about a particular country or people, we should be mindful of arrogance and patriotism (which leads to arrogance.
Every country has beautiful aspects, good and bad people. 99% of the people I had contact with in Egypt were extremely helpful but then in my humble opinion so are 99% of Brits.
Some people went beyond bounds to assist me and I pray that Allah guides and preserves them.
May Allah grant Egypt peace, prosperity and guidance upon Haq --and all the countries. ameen.
