Hi,

could you please share advice and tips about pregnancy in Hamburg?

Who are the best gynecologists for pregnancy follow-ups?

Which hospitals or clinics would you recommend to give birth in Hamburg?

Thanks a lot in advance for your advice !

Christine

I'll ask my girlfriend ;)

We just had a little girl 2 weeks ago.  She was born at UKE and I must say I was not happy with my partners care.  They were packed and we were told on check in that there were no rooms or delivery rooms available, she could not get and epidural(PDA) because there were no anesthesiologist available.  The hebamma that delivered our baby was not very communicative during the birth.  I mean in terms of letting her know what was going on, telling her when to push...basically helping her through the process. Then the topper was that during the course of the delivery she tore (which happens to a lot of women) and she had to lay there for almost 2 hours before a surgeon came to stitch her up!  UKE has been touted as being the best and the most state of the art hospital in Hamburg.  We both expected better.

Our OBGN was AWESOME.  Her name is Judith Koumetchoua (sp) and her office is by the Schlummp U-Bahn station.  She speaks English  and is very accomodating, patient and you never feel rushed when you sit down to talk to her.

I hope this has helped.  Congrats and good luck!
