Drunken Hanoi customs official crashes into US embassy car!

Post new topic

These guys got balls!

This shows how abusive government officials are in VN.  They think they are above the law.  How interesting.  I bet these jerks will have the PM's attention.

That was a good one, Doc! :thanks:

They have been doing these sort of things for a long long time, and they have been doing it in all parts of the country.  Now, all of a sudden, Pow!, they hit the wrong car and came barking up the wrong tree...  :dumbom:

Yes, it will be interesting to hear what the PM or the Foreign Affair Office has to say about this.

It will be very funny if they exonerate the gang and criticize the embassy driver for parking in the wrong area. :proud

Hey, they do that all the time and all over the country here...

You aren't even in the country, so why the complaint.? They are acting just like privileged government officials are supposed to act.

They ARE the law. That's why they use sheet paper  for reports, so they can edestroyed and re-written.

Doubtful, e's a busy guy. Do you think Obama gets notified of minor accidents?

He will most likely get promoted. There's no love lost between the US Embassy and VN.

I can see it now. The Customs guy was chasing smuggler and this improperly parked car, that hadn't folded it's wing mirrors in was in the way. End of story.

The US Consulate and TP HCM get on much better AND they let them drill their bloody security posts into the sidewalks along with their TV cameras.

The high walls are useless as you can see in the grounds from the highrise on the opposite side of La Duan.

Last year a US 'diplomat' ended up getting attacked by a VN internal security guy in Hue.

The Embassy, not consulate, guys are always trying to nose around Ban Me Thuot but they are either heavily escorted or prohibited from the Ede areas - other Foreigners always know as the police make peremptory licence/visa inspections to make sure you live in DakLak.

Last year It was the US Embassy Diplomat, Political Foreigner Service Officer, Christian Marchant, who was pushed to the ground after had his car door slammed on his knees.  He was due to receive an award back at the State Department in Washington a week after that, for outstanding work in Human Rights.  This happened in front of the Priest Activist's home, when he was on 12 month medical leave from jail.  All the State Department could do was filed a protest then nothing else was heard after that.  It will be interesting to see what's up this time.  When I googled this news, I only found it in Thanhniennews.com and no where else.  How interesting that they must have the place sealed off from all journalists. . .

l3ully

Neither of the sides is my business. On one, I am a guest withe the one side and the other one, I am not a fan of them either.

The US diplomat was doing what they always do, push the envelope.

The priest was under restrictions and the American 'diplomat'/CIA guy tried to breach the restrictions.

It was in many papers, with pictures, but it's old news.

I'm sorry, I'm missing the point of this thread. We can all read newspapers ( as Mr Hughes has demonstrated on numerous occasions)
