Coffee or beer in Hanoi, anyone?

Post new topic

Wild_1

Hello guys,

I am going to be in Hanoi for about 4 days for business, starting tomorrow.  I wonder if any of you are going to be available for a few cups of coffee or a couple of beers in the evening?

I would really like to get to know the city and its people a little more, especially the historical landmarks and the traditional north Vietnamese dishes.  No, Budman1 and Anatta, I do not mean dogs!!!

If you are going to be free, drop me a line.  Don't worry, I speak Vietnamese, too.

Hope to see all of you there.
Howie

What? you are too good for it now, heh?
Getting a bit haughty lately, sir?

Budman1

Anatta This is "National Be Nice To Howie Week". While he's in Hanoi he's going to be checking on that electric stove that I think is on order for me. The only place in all of Vietnam that I could find what I wanted.

"National Be Nice To Howie Week".

Yeah!!!  What the hell was this all about, Anatta?

Getting a bit haughty lately, sir?

Would you like me to tell "Number 1" on you?

Budman1,

So, I see that the tractor driver got you and your package of contrabands back to Can Tho fine, hey?

Howie.

I am so, so sorry. I think my Chihuahua was upset when he was reading your posting, so he logged in under my user name and wrote the previous post. Bad, bad doggie.

Budman: Let me know when he is back then I will start again.

Hi Meomun,

Yeah, what about you, are you going to be free this week?  I think I will be staying in My Dinh.  Is that close to you?

Anyways, please PM me your number.  I will give you a buzz when I am free.  It will be a pleasure to meet and chat with you over some good north Vietnamese cookings, yeah?

Howie

Yesterday evening, after meeting Howie, on the road come back to my rent room, there was a duck restaurant at 233 Kham Thien street. Previously, my roommate took me there and we intended to enjoy duck porridge, but unfortunately, at that time the restaurant was closed.
And yesterday, it was open, I asked the restaurant owner whether duck porridge is still available, then I took a seat.
Then I saw my phone, there was a missed call and a message of my cousin. I called her. The restaurant's owner brought a bowl of porridge for me, at the same time, a guy came to the restaurant to enjoy porridge, too.
One time he went to my table to take pepper, then nothing happened, we were strangers in a same place.
I ate slowly, then he finished first. He stood up and asked the restaurant's owner about the price, I turned my head to listen the conversation to know about the price. When the restaurant's owner said that: 20000 VND, I continued to eat, and no longer paid attention to them. Then that guy said to me: "Friend, I paid for you already"
At that time I was really confused, I asked him: "Why? But why? Why did you do it?". He didn't answer me and went away on his motorbike. I even didn't have enough time to say thank.
Till now I still don't understand the reason ...

Hey guys,

Is it me or that Anatta guy posted something on here earlier, making fun of me?

Maybe he came to his senses...?

Anatta

This is the week "be nice to Howie", remember? Today is only Friday :)

MeoMun
Things must be different up there up north, but people down here do this to lottery sellers all the time. Maybe you should move down here.

Also, Dang!! I did not know that lottery sellers up there speak English so well and be so good looking too!!.
