Husband on wife's visa?

Post new topic

expatmbw

Hi, newbie here.

I have not seen much information on this topic. I know a lot depends on the job classification. I am waiting on an offer from a school for a teaching job. My husband would come to Saudi if I take the job, however, how does it work with a husband being on the wife's visa?

My husband may or may not look to work there as he does work online. A little background. I'm American, my husband is African (permanent US resident).

How would this work? Does the nationality matter? Any potential complications I should be aware of??? Anything I should make sure that's on the contract?

I'm expecting housing, medical, etc and all the benefits to be included. If not I will not be Saudi expat;)

That's quite a norm @expatmbw. And that specific visa is called 'Mehrem' [spouse] visa.

Just check in your contract the specification of 'family' status and the benefis highlighted (insurance, housing allowance etc).

Nop, nationality won't matter and no complications whatsoever.

Wheew, what a relief. I was a little worried. Thanks!
